We are thrilled to share that Monday's inaugural Champion A Champion Golf Classic was not only successful, but also inspirational! Guests had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with some of our Ambassadors, who exemplify GCI's core values and are committed to building a better tomorrow and fostering change.
The event raised money to fund financial scholarships for both Global Citizens Initiativeand Matsui 55 Baseball Foundation to enable youth to pursue their passions and foster critical thinking, collaboration and teamwork. Yumi Kuwana, Founder of GCI, and Hideki Matsui, Founder of Matsui 55, welcomed our guests and thanked them for their generous support before the winners of the on-course contests and best foursome were announced.
All of our live auction items sold with Bobby Valentine as our emcee and auctioneer, but you still have an opportunity to check out a couple of unique, silent auction items that will continue to be available for purchase until Monday, May 21st. Please check out the auction site to see these great opportunities! Guests also had the chance to support both organizations by contributing towards Wishlist items. GCI's Wishlist includes requests to fund Fellow participation in an outward bound team building workshop, travel from Africa for Fellows to attend the Global Citizens Youth Summit, and program workbooks for the Summit. If you would like to make a direct impact on the lives of young global citizens, please check out the full list here.
