Summer 2021: The GCI LEAD Challenge

Updated: Feb 16, 2021

We are very excited to share the details for the GCI LEAD Challenge, an innovative and carefully curated virtual program for secondary school students focused on:

  • Leadership

  • Ethics

  • Advocacy

  • Design Thinking

The GCI LEAD Challenge will be held from Monday, July 26, 2021 – Saturday, July 31, 2021, and will convene outstanding students from around the world.

This virtual program will incorporate the core elements of the GCI Summit, including Harkness®* discussions led by Phillips Exeter Academy faculty, workshops led by Design Thinking experts and sessions by inspirational speakers. Students will learn to lead with an ethical lens, engage in meaningful cross-cultural dialogue, gain new and different perspectives from their classmates and collaborate in virtual teams to address an urgent global issue that’s rooted in the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Alumni of the GCI LEAD Challenge will become lifelong members of our global community, where they can connect with each other, other GCI alumni and a supportive group of GCI staff, friends and mentors.

The application will open on March 1, 2021. Spaces are limited, and students will be admitted on a rolling basis. Participants will need access to a computer and an internet connection that will support Zoom. The tuition is US$950, and a limited amount of financial aid is available.

Subscribe to receive our updates, including further details and information on the GCI LEAD Challenge. We look forward to you joining our GCI Community!
