Please join us in celebrating the official launch of the Ambassador Advisory Council, the newest addition to our GCI Leadership team. These Ambassadors were selected for their commitment to the GCI mission and their continued involvement in the GCI community. We thank them for their energy and interest in advancing GCI’s endeavors. The council will be instrumental in preparing for the 5th year reunion, testing our new online platform, MyGCI, and coordinating outreach to our growing group of Ambassadors around the world.
Jessica ('15) is currently studying Politics and Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. She recently had the opportunity to meet up with one of our Teaching Assistants from 2014 and 2015, Alexandra Small, and is spending the summer remotely conducting political research on the United States.
Karishma ('14) is currently studying at NYU, majoring in Drama at the Tisch School of the Arts and History in the College of Arts and Science and minoring in South Asian studies. In March, she published an article with the Aga Khan Foundation about her continued work on clean water. Karishma will be spending the summer traveling and studying. Her aspirations to be a theater maker are well on their way.
Mako ('15) is currently an undergraduate student of Law at Keio University. She will spend the summer studying for her Bar Exam, as well as organizing three different meet-ups in Japan. The first two have already been hugely successful, bringing together Ambassadors not only from Japan, but also North and South America.
David ('15) is a student at Columbia University, studying Economics and Sustainable Development and focusing on how businesses can address sustainability challenges through investments and entrepreneurship. This summer, David is interning at Cook Pine Capital and serving as our Head Teaching Assistant during the Summit 2018.
Takunda ('15) is currently a Hesburgh-Yusko Scholar at the University of Notre Dame. He is studying Data Analytics and Political Science, and carrying out research on the role of natural resource management in Africa's quest to prosperity. Later this summer, Takunda will join us as a Teaching Assistant.
Kevin ('15) currently studies Global Affairs at Yale University, and is the Director-General of Administration for the Model United Nations Taiwan team and President of the Yale Breakdance Club. This summer he will be spending the majority of his time working on his own food tech startup, Homecooked, before joining us at the Summit 2018 as an Inspirational Speaker.
We are looking forward to sharing the Ambassador Advisory Council’s contributions and plans as they continue to evolve. For now, please join us in congratulating Jessica, Karishma, Mako, David, Takunda, and Kevin on their appointments!
