More information about The GCI LEAD Challenge is available in our news posts from February 2, 2021 and March 5, 2021.
Dear GCI Community,
I am writing with an update on GCI’s 2021 programs. After much consideration, we have decided to postpone our GCI Fellowship and Seminar for Educators until the summer of 2022. The COVID-19 vaccine should be readily available by then, and we can be confident that our global participants will be able to travel safely and engage in these wonderful events without concerns about health risks.
By making this decision now, GCI has the unique opportunity to develop a virtual program for secondary school students in the summer of 2021 that meets our high standards for program excellence and meaningful engagement.
We are very excited to announce The GCI LEAD Challenge, an innovative, project-based ethics and leadership program for secondary school students.
Participants from across the world will work in virtual teams to address an urgent global issue and devise a potential solution. Further details, including the dates and details on the application process, will be shared in January of 2021.
Thank you for your continued interest in and support for GCI’s mission – to engage, educate, and empower the next generation of global leaders. This remains our focus and we are delighted to offer secondary school students a new and timely program to help them become better global citizens.
On behalf of our entire GCI Team, I wish you and yours a safe and peaceful holiday season.
Sincerely,
Yumi Kuwana
