Dear GCI Community,
We are thrilled to share that last week's Champion A Champion Golf Classic was a big success! The event raised funds for programs to empower youth run by GCI and Matsui 55 Baseball Foundation.
Yumi Kuwana, Founder of GCI, and Hideki Matsui, Founder of Matsui 55, would like to thank all of our sponsors, supporters and guests. Their generosity allows both organizations to continue to enable youth to pursue their passions while fostering critical thinking, collaboration and leadership skills.
After a beautiful, sunny day on the golf course, our evening events were expertly emceed by New York radio and TV legend Ed Randall, while former New York Mets manager Bobby Valentine served as our skilled auctioneer. With his energetic encouragement, all of our live auction items sold, including luxury trips to Maui and Tokyo.
Our guests were then treated to an exclusive Fireside Chat between Bobby Valentine, Joe Torre and Hideki Matsui to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the 2000 Yankees vs. Mets Subway Series, moderated by legendary broadcaster Bob Costas.
Guests also had the chance to support both organizations by contributing towards Wishlist items, such as scholarships for students to be able to take advantage of GCI's once-in-a-lifetime programming. If you would like to make a direct impact on the lives of young global citizens, please consider joining our expanding network of supporters and donating to GCI.
Thank you for continuing to be an invaluable part of our community. We truly appreciate your support!
Sincerely,
Yumi Kuwana and the GCI Team
